This policy explains how Dávid Lengyel, individual entrepreneur (Lengyel Dávid e.v.), registered seat: Eötvös József utca 11., 2500 Esztergom, Hungary, registration number: 55643173 ("NeuraDeer", "we") handles personal data in connection with the NeuraDeer AI assistant service, our website and the NeuraDeer Connector plugin for WordPress.

1. Two different roles

As controller, we process data about our own customers: the people who register a NeuraDeer account, use the dashboard, pay for a subscription or contact support.

As processor, we process data that flows through a customer's chat assistant — the messages their website visitors type, and the content and product data the customer connects. For that data our customer is the controller and decides the purposes; we act on their instructions.

3. Data processed through the assistant (as processor)

Chat messages typed by website visitors, and the assistant's answers.
Knowledge base content: pages scanned, documents uploaded, question/answer pairs added by the customer.
Product data: product name, description, price, stock status, category, image URL and product URL, for shops that enable catalog sync.
Lead data, where the customer enables lead capture: the contact details a visitor voluntarily provides in chat.

Visitors should not enter sensitive personal data into a chat window. Our assistant is instructed not to request passwords, card numbers, national ID numbers or similar data, and not to repeat them if they are entered anyway.

We do not sell personal data and we do not use customer chat content to train our own or third-party general-purpose AI models.

5. International transfers

Some of the providers above are located outside the European Economic Area. Where that is the case, transfers are covered by the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or another valid transfer mechanism. Service data at rest is stored in Hungary, in the European Union.

6. Retention

Chat history: kept for the retention period the customer sets in their dashboard (90 days by default), then deleted automatically.
Knowledge base and product data: kept while the account is active; deleted when removed by the customer or when the account is deleted.
Account data: deleted within 30 days of account deletion.
Invoices and accounting records: kept for 8 years, as required by Hungarian accounting law.
Technical logs: kept for up to 12 months.

7. Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to your personal data, its correction or erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, and you may object to processing based on our legitimate interests. Write to info@neuradeer.com and we will respond within 30 days.

If a website visitor sends us a request about data held on behalf of one of our customers, we forward it to that customer, who is the controller for that data.

You may also lodge a complaint with the Hungarian Data Protection Authority (NAIH, naih.hu) or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.

8. Security

Data is transmitted over TLS. Passwords are stored hashed. Access to production systems is restricted and logged, backups are taken regularly, and each account's data is separated by a tenant key. No system is perfectly secure; we notify affected customers and the authority as required if a breach occurs.

9. Cookies

Our website uses cookies that are necessary for login sessions and language selection, and analytics/advertising tags where you have consented to them. The chat widget uses local browser storage to keep a conversation open across page loads; it does not set advertising cookies.

NeuraDeer Connector (WordPress plugin). The plugin sends the following to the NeuraDeer service, and only after you connect it to an account: your site URL; the name, email address, password and shop name you enter if you create an account from the plugin; product data if you enable import or real-time sync; the page URLs and documents you submit under "Learning"; the bot and widget settings you save; and your public key plus a plugin-generated security key on every request. When the chat widget is placed on your public pages, it loads a script from neuradeer.com and visitor chat messages are processed by the service. No data leaves your site before you connect the plugin.
